Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tuğrul CABIOĞLU
He graduated from the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine at the İstanbul University in the year 1983. He was trained in Acupuncture at the “China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine” between the years 1990-1991. Following this, he started his PhD program titled, “Weight Loss among the obese due to Acupuncture Stimulation” at the Physiology Department of the Faculty of Medicine at the Konya Selçuk University in the year 1999, completing the program in 2002. He entered the Faculty of Medicine at the Başkent University as an academician of the Physiology Department in the year 2007. The same year, he established the “Acupuncture Cure Unit” connected to the anesthesiology department of the same university. He assumed the title of assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Başkent University in 2010, associate professor in 2011 and professor in 2017. In the year 2015, he established the “Center for Contemporary and Complementary Medical Applications” under the auspices of Başkent University Faculty of Medicine. Starting from the year 2000, he was elected as a member of the “Acupuncture Scientific Institution for the Ministry of Health” for many years and most recently to the supreme council of “Contemporary and Complementary Medical Science and Technology for the Ministry of Health” in the year 2017 where his duties still continue. He is the Vice President of Acupuncture and Complementary Medical Association of Ankara and in the year 2018 a board member of the World Federation of Acupuncture–Moxibustion Societies (WFAS). In 2025, I founded the pharmacopuncture association. He has participated in the organization commission of five congress and symposiums on the subjects of Acupuncture and Complementary Medical Science. He has 55 SCI, SCI Expanded and Interntaionalindices about acupuncture. He worked in the physiology department of Ankara Medipol University. He speaks good English.
